| South Platte Valley Historical Society Fort Lupton Master Plan Fort Lupton, Colorado |
| Lieutenant Lancaster Lupton saw opportunity in the frontier fur trade. So up rose his trading fort in 1832 and as the fur trade dwindled so did the adobe bricks. The last adobes are stored by the South Platte Valley Historical Society in their historic barn on their 100 acre site, the site of the original fort, ready to be reassembled in the evocation of the original fort. An interpretive center will expose visitors to the site's history and interpretive themes which frame its development. |
